The Croft | Downtown Phoenix
Alexa & Jerome
A downtown Phoenix wedding that started where their story first did.Palomar beginnings
Before The Croft, the day started at the place where Alexa and Jerome had their first date.
Alexa and Jerome got ready at Kimpton Hotel Palomar in downtown Phoenix, which already would have been a strong start. Cool art, city light, hotel energy, the kind of setting that makes the quiet parts of a wedding morning feel cinematic.
But this place had a little more weight to it. Their first date was at Blue Hound inside the Palomar, so the day began with a full-circle kind of feeling before anyone even headed to the ceremony.
I had met these two a few times at other weddings over the years, and they are exactly the kind of people you hope a wedding day gives you: warm, easy, kind, and genuinely fun to be around.

Palette
Downtown neutrals, polished concrete, ivory, candlelight, and party glow.
The Croft ceremony
Then everyone moved to The Croft, where the ceremony had that clean downtown drama.
The Croft is a Wedgwood property in downtown Phoenix, and it has one of those ceremony rooms that photographs with a little extra polish. Literally. The reflective floor gives everything a little glow and depth, and it makes the room feel elevated without trying too hard.
Alexa and Jerome’s ceremony had that beautiful mix of emotion and ease. It felt personal, but not overly staged. Elegant, but still very much them.

The whole day had this great downtown rhythm: hotel morning, polished ceremony, alleyway portraits, courtyard laughter, then straight into the party.
Alleyways and courtyard
After the ceremony, we stepped into downtown Phoenix and let the city do its thing.
One of my favorite parts of photographing at The Croft is that you can get a totally different feel just by walking outside. A little alleyway texture, a little downtown edge, then back into the venue’s courtyard for family, friends, and that beautiful open-air setting.
And yes, the giant Jenga deserves a mention. They had a tower going that was honestly impressive, maybe the most impressive wedding Jenga tower I’ve seen. Then Alexa’s mom knocked it down, which is exactly the kind of tiny unscripted moment that makes a wedding feel alive.

The party
Inside, the reception turned into the kind of party people actually remember.
After portraits and courtyard time, everyone moved indoors and the night opened up. The cake, the dancing, the packed floor, the friends and family fully leaning in. It had that happy, high-energy, no-one-is-pretending-to-have-fun feeling.
The sendoff brought everyone back through the courtyard with glow foam sticks, which gave the exit this playful, electric finish. A perfect downtown Phoenix ending for a couple that made the whole day feel easy to celebrate.
Alexa and Jerome, thank you for letting me photograph this chapter. It was a joy seeing you two again, this time in the middle of your own story.
